"Thraria, quit looking at me like that."
"I’m not sure what you mean, Rine."
"……Oblivion take you, Thraria. No, really. Gods, you’re insufferable."
“And, your best friend.”
"I couldn’t have found better."
"Teldryn, what in Oblivion are you looking at? We need to move on to the nearest inn before sundown. You know how The Reach is at night."
"Oh, silence, priest. If you can’t take a few on a few Forsworn or bears in the middle of the night, I’d be happy to hold your hand for you."
"What the… How dare you mock my— –”
"Hey, guys!! I can see Dragon Bridge from here. Let’s go! ……Wait, is that……"
"Ah, so you saw it, did you?" Teldryn chuckled as the girl rushed enthusiastically towards him and crouched to inspect the spot that he had brought to their attention, "Nothing gets past your archer’s eye, I suppose."
"That’s for certain," Erandur agreed, mildly amused at the intensity with which Rinephiel scrutinized the object. Ah, so it was a ring.
"Ooh, this little find will more than pay for a great meal at the Four Shields, not to mention cover the costs of us staying there. I’ll even be able to get extra gold for us, on top of it all!" She jumped up, grinning, "It’s an enchanted gold ring. Jackpot!"
A lulling rumble floated through the air, and the three were all at once reminded of how darkened the sky had become. Rinephiel breathed in the scent of a mountainside thirsty for rain, smiling contently, “Well, then, shall we all be off? I see a night of food and drinks ahead, what say the two of you?”
“Teldryn Sero, you made me realize I have a strong attraction to Dunmer.”
